Our classes are loving the chicks! So much to see that we are giving tours of the "Hatchery" to older and younger students around the school. Thanks to Lincoln's grandparents for such a wonderful presentation yesterday and the 36 eggs that have been hatching since yesterday morning!
Watch and enjoy!

Celebrating with Henna!
Thanks to Rahill's mom from Mrs. Donovan's class, many students enjoyed the latest designs... very whimsical fun!
We had a great week. You can be proud of your students! I am! They seemed alert and rested. They used the strategies that we worked on through the year to effectively deal with the text of the test. They had stamina and didn't rush.
But, we are very happy to say...That's it!
Thank you to Megan Ma's mom, Jane's mom, Lincoln's mom, and Matthew's mom who provided lovely food and drink each morning. We enjoyed it so much. We had pizza on Thursday, capped with a bodacious ice cream sundae bar served by Jen's mom... aren't we lucky to have so much? Today Megan Ma's mom and dad brought the famous snow cone machine and we cooled off this afternoon! Yum!

Announcing a New Rocket Math Star
Stan is our latest math wiz! He has completed all the Multiplication timed tests and is moving on with Division fact mastery. Great job, Stan!
Here are some tips from Stan: "My Rocket Math tips- One of my tips is if you have an older sister or older brother, make them write down multiplication problems and try to solve them. My second tip is before you take the Rocket Math test, write the facts down and solve them so you know them. If you don't know your multiplication facts, make sure you study them with your brother or sister from the multiplication chart."

"Caps for Sale"
Our class is sponsoring an Indialantic hat sale to raise money for supplies. We are doing the service project along with Mrs. Donovan's and Mrs. Umbenhauer's classes. It is a good-looking hat according to the students. Here is a photo of students who bought hats today. They are $5 each. They are selling fast, so we have ordered another gross to last out the week. Sale officially begins on Monday at our room or the front office from 7:45-8:15 am only.

Figurative Language
This week we learned about figurative language. Authors include figurative language to enhance the writing and make it more interesting to read and think about. Here is the fun video we used with the students that shows figurative language in pop music. Your student may enjoy viewing it again which would reinforce the collection of figurative techniques used at this level.
